THE ARCHIVE

(Q) WILL A RECORD BE RESTOCKED ONCE IT IS SOLD? DESCRY is a culmination of projects focused on rarity and intent. Because of the nature of our curation, we rarely encounter the same piece twice; our Archival records are singular findings, documented for a final home. Our Originals and Reworks are created in small batches, limited to 1 of 20 or fewer, ensuring the integrity of the garment remains intact.

THE STUDIO & APPOINTMENTS

(Q) CAN I VISIT THE STUDIO TO VIEW OR TRY ON RECORDS? Private viewings and fittings are available strictly by appointment only at our Melbourne headquarters. We operate as a private working space and cannot accommodate walk-ins.

ADDRESS Suite 607, Level 6, The Nicholas Building 37 Swanston St, Melbourne VIC 3000

SIZING

Our sizing is indicative only. Because vintage, archival, and international sizing varies significantly from modern Australian standards, the sizes assigned to our records are estimations based on garment measurements. We strongly advise reviewing the specific measurements provided on the individual product pages or contacting the studio for further details prior to purchase.

SHIPPING & DISPATCH

(Q) WHERE DO YOU SHIP FROM? All orders are documented and dispatched from our Melbourne studio. We ship twice per week.

ESTIMATED TIMELINES

  • Australia Post (Domestic): 1 - 6 business days.

  • Australia Post (Express): 1 - 3 days.

  • International Standard: 1 - 3 weeks.

  • DHL Express (International): 4 - 10 business days.

RETURNS

(Q) CAN I RETURN MY ORDER?

  • For Made-to-Order & New Releases: As a small brand with limited, made-to-order inventory, we are only able to fulfill like-item exchanges for our permanent collections. Requests must be made within 48 hours of delivery. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in their original condition.

  • For Archival, Vintage & Collaboration Pieces: All sales of archival, vintage, and guest-seller garments are strictly final sale. Because these items are unique, 1-of-1 pieces, we cannot offer exchanges, returns, or store credit for change of mind or incorrect fit. Detailed measurements, sizing estimations, and condition notes are provided for every item prior to purchase. For future reference, please request further details or specific measurements prior to completing your purchase. By completing a transaction, the buyer acknowledges the vintage nature of the record and accepts these terms as final.

GARMENT CARE & LIABILITY

(Q) HOW DO I CARE FOR MY ARCHIVAL PIECES?

  • KNITS: Never hang your knits. Store them folded to maintain the garment's form.

  • SILK: Silk is a delicate, living fiber. Handwash in cold water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Do not wring or tumble dry; lay flat in the shade to dry.

  • LEATHER: We recommend regular maintenance for archival leather. Dust with a horsehair brush and wipe with a clean microfiber cloth. To restore moisture and protection, we recommend Leather CPR. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

  • GENERAL: For all other ready-to-wear, we advise washing garments with cold water on delicate cycles or by hand to ensure longevity.

VINTAGE FOOTWEAR DISCLAIMER Archival and vintage footwear (particularly pieces aged 15 years or older) can experience natural structural degradation over time. This includes the weakening of internal resins, glues, and polyurethane components (dry rot/hydrolysis), which can occur entirely independent of the shoe's visual condition. All vintage footwear is sold as a unique collector’s record. DESCRY is not liable for structural wear, damage, or material failure that occurs post-purchase.
